New Bioshock Coming Called Bioshock Infinite!
Don’t forget to check out the teaser trailer for Irrational Games’ upcoming Bioshock Infinite title. Creative control is placed back in the hand’s of Ken Levine and co; the original masterminds behind their 2007 magnum opus Bioshock.
At the moment the teaser trailer really is just that: a teaser. Set for a 2012 release (impressively it will still be available on current generation consoles) the only sure thing that one can say about this new installment is that – unlike its predecessors – this title will not be set underwater. The very opposite in fact.
The game will take place during pre-WW1 America (around 1912) in the city of Columbia. In the sky! The teaser reveals that the game will have its setting in the clouds. Levine has stipulated that this game will thematically tie in with the first Bioshock but is not a prequel to it and as such will not be linked by any narrative to his previous work.
In relation to Irrational Games’ previous success with FPS narrative and gameplay the anticipation (as well as the enigma and mystique) of this up and coming Bioshock title is more than justified and you can bet YHiL is keeping its keen eyes peeled for more updates.
